INVITATION TO SUBMIT EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR THE YOUTH VOTE COUNT CONCERT

Overview: Yiaga Africa is inviting proposals for organizing a series of concerts aimed at increasing awareness and engagement among the youth regarding their voting rights and participation in the electoral process. The concerts will be held across the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria as part of our ongoing commitment to empower young voters to register and vote in the 2023 general elections.

Objectives:

  • To educate and motivate the youth about the importance of voting and how it can influence the political landscape.
  • To increase voter registration among young individuals in all geopolitical zones.
  • To create a platform for young people to register and deal with issues as it relates with the voter’s card.

Scope of Work: The selected organizer(s) will be responsible for the following:

  • Planning, organizing, and executing concerts in each of the six geopolitical zones.
  • Securing artists and speakers who appeal to young audiences and who align with the mission of voter education.
  • Coordinating with local authorities and electoral commissions for integrating voter registration activities within the events.
  • Ensuring all logistical aspects of the concerts are managed professionally, including venue selection, security, and compliance with local regulations.
  • Promoting the events to maximize attendance and impact, utilizing both traditional and digital media channels.

Proposal Requirements: Proposals should include detailed information on:

  • The applicant’s experience in organizing similar events.
  • Proposed project plan, including timelines, venues, potential artists and speakers, and logistical details.
  • Detailed budget estimation, including expected costs for venues, artists, logistics, promotion, and any other relevant expenses.
  • Strategies for attracting and engaging youth audiences.
  • Methods for measuring event impact, particularly in terms of increased awareness and voter registration.
  • Any partnerships or sponsorships that will be leveraged to enhance the events.

Eligibility: This call is open to event organizers, cultural groups, NGOs, and any other organizations with a proven track record in large-scale event management and youth engagement.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Proposals must be submitted physically to Yiaga Africa office at No 3 Frantz Fanon 17 Road 3rd Avenue Gwarimpa Abuja with the subject line “Proposal: Concert Series on Youth Vote Count.”
  • All proposals must be received by Friday 13th May 2022
  • Proposals should be sealed in an enclosed envelope format.

Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience in organizing large-scale and high-impact events.
  • Creativity and practicality of the proposed project plan.
  • Cost-effectiveness and comprehensive budget planning.
  • Potential to reach and engage a broad spectrum of youth audiences.
  • Alignment with the goals and values of Yiaga Africa.
