James Nnamdi Aduba was called to the Bar in 1979. He holds a LL.B (Honours) from University of Lagos and LL.M from London School of Economics and Political Science. He has lectured in the University of Maiduguri; Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria; Nasarawa State University, Keffi (where he was the Pioneer Dean of Law) and University of Jos where he has been a Professor of Law since 1999. He was the S.M.A. Belgore Chair for Law and Development in the Nigerian Institute for Advanced Legal Studies, Abuja from 2009-2011.

He holds the National Association of Law Teachers’ Merit Award for teaching continuously for 25 years in 2005. He has been Chairman/Member of NUC Accreditation Team for undergraduate programmes and institutional accreditation from 1999 till date and has contributed various articles in reputable journals and chapters in legal textbooks.
