Overview
In a bid to increase citizen turnout in Nigeria’s election, Yiaga Africa launched a project tagged #SixtyPercentOfUs, aimed at mobilising at least 60% of eligible young voters to register, collect their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) and vote in the 2023 elections using traditional and non-traditional tools of political mobilisation. The campaign successfully targeted and mobilised over 20 thousand young people to register and collect their PVCs ahead of the 2023 elections.
There was strong growth in municipal charities. The Brougham Commission led on to the Municipal Corporations Act 1835, which reorganized multiple local charities by incorporating them into single entities under supervision from local government.
