As the first quarter of the Continuous Voter Registration winds down, civic actors are urging citizens to participate actively in the Display for Claims and Objections beginning December 15. Meanwhile, Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, criticised the distribution of campaign vehicles ahead of the 2027 elections, describing the move as a misuse of public resources at a time when citizens continue to grapple with poverty, hunger, and insecurity.

In Rivers State, the House of Assembly passed a unanimous vote of confidence urging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to seek a second term in 2027, praising his administration for federal appointments and infrastructural projects within the state. The political scene in Osun saw heightened tensions as PDP lawmakers in the House of Representatives rejected the purported party primaries allegedly held in Ibadan, while the ADC dismissed rumours of selecting a governorship candidate ahead of the 2026 elections. Additionally, the PDP National Chairman clarified that the party has not received formal notice from Governor Ademola Adeleke regarding his alleged resignation, reaffirming that he remains listed among aspirants for the party’s ticket.
