Gabriel Prince Gutap is an experienced social development worker who has over 10 years of experience in democracy, good governance and peacebuilding with specialization in election observation, electoral reform, community mobilization, organization building, and capacity building.
Gabriel’s contribution to democracy and good governance through his work at Yiaga Africa has built the capacity of 42 election master trainers and over 250 election observers across Nigerian who demonstrated the knowledge and skills in training and observation of elections that was instrumental to the study and documentation of the electoral process in Nigeria. His work has also contributed to electoral reform, increased the integrity of the electoral commission and citizens’ confidence in the electoral process through the Watching The Vote (WTV) movement, Yiaga Africa’s citizen-led observation initiative.
Born in Jos, Plateau State, Gabriel graduated from the university of Jos with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology in the year 2015 from the University of Jos.
