INEC registers 61,075 voters in Kogi

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it has registered a total of 61,075 voters in Kogi State in the ongoing Continuous Voters registration.

Inec Resident Electoral Commissioner in Kogi State Professor James Apam disclosed this during a stakeholders meeting with Political parties at the commission’s headquarter in Lokoja.
Prof Apam noted that the registered voters consist 31, 438 Male and 29,637 Female.

“The commission have also distributed 8,176 permanent voters card, while those that are yet to be collected amounts to 282,747.

“We have also replaced 3, 260 damaged card and transfer 2,189” Prof Apam added.

Additional centers have also been approved for the Independent National Electoral Commission Voters Registration Exercise (CVR) in Kogi State.

The centers according to Prof Apam are Zango Daji in Adavi Local government, Ganaja village in Ajaokuta Local Government, Ojoku in Ankpa local government, Anyigba in Dekina local government Akutupa Kiri in Kabba Bunu Local Government and Obajana in Lokoja local Government Area of Kogi state.

He called on stakeholders to collaborate with the commission in the area of sensitisation against multiple registration and any other actions that constitute electoral offences in the ongoing continuous voters registration exercise.

With the additional centres created by INEC, Kogi now have 27 Continuous Voters Registration Centres across the 21 Local Government of the State.
