Generally its the spring seat goes bad, but after 100k+ miles, the bearing in the middle of the strut mount could begin to go bad and need to be replaced. Tire balance, bad struts (causes feathering on the inside or outside of tire like a ripple as you move your hand arund the tire) bad bearings and suspension arm bushings can cause shake.
