Call for Applications – Young Women in Politics Organising Lab

About the program

Yiaga Africa, in partnership with WILAN Global and the Gender Centre for Empowering Development (GenCED) West Africa and with support from the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), is excited  to announce the ‘Young Women in Politics Organising Laba leadership and organizing bootcamp designed to mobilize and support  young women in politics with the skills and confidence to lead, mobilize, and campaign effectively.

The Young Women in Politics Organising Lab will take place in Accra, Ghana, as a 2-day leadership and training camp. One of the key outcomes will be to strengthen the capacity of young women-led civil society organizations dedicated to mobilizing and supporting young women in politics. The Lab will also build the capacity of young women to contest for election and equip participants with practical knowledge and organizing skills to run effective campaigns and build movements around issues that matter to them.

Following the Labs, participants will form a community of young women advocates, including those who have successfully navigated their political journeys. This network will encourage active participation in the electoral process and promote interest in political engagement.

Eligibility

 This program is designed for:

  1. Young women leaders of civil society organisations or in the civic space, female aspirants contesting for elective positions, female campaign managers, and young female political party leaders
  2. Young Women who are aged 18 to 45 years by September 2025
  3. Passionate about meaningful political participation
  4. Women living with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply

Program Costs

Yiaga Africa will cover all costs associated with participation, including:

  • Transportation (within Accra, Ghana)
  • Accommodation
  • Meals and training materials
