Background
As part of its digital transformation and operational efficiency goals, Yiaga Africa is seeking an exceptional Senior IT Officer to manage its IT infrastructure, provide tech support, and lead initiatives that improve internal systems and data security. The role will support the organization’s strategic objectives by ensuring the smooth operation of all IT-related services and platforms.

This is a full-time role for one year initially, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding. The role involves 40 hours of work per week and offers a competitive salary.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of all of Yiaga Africa’s websites.
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware, software, networks, and systems.
- Manage the organization’s IT helpdesk by providing timely technical support and solutions.
- Ensure the security of data, network access, and backup systems.
- Design and implement IT policies, standards, and procedures.
- Monitor and maintain computer systems, networks, printers, and other tech equipment.
- Maintain and regularly update inventory of IT assets.
- Ensure compliance with data protection and cybersecurity best practices.
- Support virtual collaboration platforms, email systems, and productivity tools (e.g. Microsoft 365, Zoom, Google Workspace).
- Manage internal file sharing and cloud storage systems.
- Conduct periodic IT training and orientation for staff.
- Assist in digital transformation initiatives and process automation.
- Collaborate with external vendors and consultants to support ICT projects and upgrades.
- Support the development and maintenance of internal platforms, websites, and data management systems.

Required Skills and Experience
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in IT support and systems administration, preferably in an NGO or similar setting.
- Strong experience with Windows and Mac OS environments.
- Proficiency in managing local and cloud-based servers and networks.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity protocols and best practices.
- Ability to manage Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and other collaboration tools.
- Familiarity with databases, CMS platforms, and enterprise software.
- Experience with hardware troubleshooting, repair, and asset lifecycle management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and user support orientation.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft, AWS) will be an added advantage.
Language Requirements
- Fluency in written and spoken English. Proficiency in French and/or another Nigerian language is an advantage.
